COVID19: An emerging threat to wild animals

Abstract
Coronavirus disease is due to an infectious disease caused by a SARS-Cov-2/COVID-19 virus. The disease symptoms range from respiratory illness similar to the mild flu with cough, fever and in more severe cases with life-threatening pneumonia. There have been a few reports of pet dogs or cats becoming infected after close contact with infected individual. Information were collected from across Central India from six national parks/ tiger reserves and 5 zoos and one rescue centre of the country. Staffs including veterinary officers were interested to know about type of samples to be collected from wild animals for the screening and confirmation.COVID19 in human beings and report COVID19in captive tiger of USA, compel us to be prepared to tackle COVID19 is an additional emerging threat not only to majestic national animal “the Tiger” but wild animals as a whole.
